Pet Passports
Fairly simple to arrange, Pet Passports issued in the EU or the UK make it possible to take your beloved cat, dog or ferret with you while travelling within the EU and/ or from the EU/ UK to listed/ unlisted countries and back.
My Vet 24/7 can enable you to travel with your pet by arranging Pet Passports. Please note that the required process will take approximately three weeks. If travelling with multiple pets (more than five), additional certification attesting to your pets’ being ‘fit & healthy to travel’ will be required.
Dentistry
Healthy teeth are an essential part of your pets’ overall well-being. Featuring an air-turbine drive, digital radiography and ultrasonic scaling, our specialist dental suite ensures effective corrective and prophylactic dental treatment.
Similar to human dentists’ facilities, our high speed air drive dental machinery allows for high speed burning, cutting and drilling, and ensures dental treatments can be carried out very quickly. This, of course, is of utmost importance, especially for older animals, where the time they have to spend under anaesthetic has to be kept at a minimum.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound examinations of your pet’s chest and abdomen, including colour imaging, and Doppler cardiac scanning carried out by our certified European specialist in advanced diagnostic scanning enables us to diagnose subtle disease processes and abnormalities.
This gives us the ability to diagnose your pet’s ailments early and without the need for procedures of a more invasive nature, thus keeping the trauma involved to a minimum. It also allows us to give your pet the treatment it requires quickly, making the treatment more effective and ensuring your pet returns to health sooner.
Acupuncture
Routinely offering neutering of cats, dogs and rabbits, we advise free re-checks (at six months) to discuss the benefits/ disadvantages of neutering any individual pet at a pet’s first routine vaccination.
For male dogs, we also offer the option of non-surgical neutering, allowing for assessment of potential behavioural changes prior to selecting neutering by castration. Far less invasive than castration and virtually pain-free, non-surgical neutering leaves your dog’s testicles (and probably also his pride) in tact, leaving him sterile without disrupting his testes’ endocrine functions.
Radiography
Our use of digital dental radiography enables us to take x-rays within a matter of seconds and with minimal use of radiation.
As a result, the animal is exposed to lower radiation levels for much less time than with conventional x-ray equipment/ techniques.
Being able to take radiographs this much faster also ensures the animal only spends a minimal amount of time under anaesthesia/ sedation.
The high quality images produced with digital radiography aid faster diagnosis and rapid treatment response by being almost instantly ready to read by our specialists. Recovery from ailments/ injuries is subsequently speeded up significantly.
Hydrotherapy
Offered by our practice in Hillingdon, hydrotherapy for dogs has many benefits aiding speedy recovery. Reducing pain and swelling; relaxing, toning and strengthening muscles; increasing joint movement ranges; improving muscle recruitment/ patterning and more, hydrotherapy also prevents secondary complications caused by muscle contracture, limb disuse and/ or gait abnormalities.
Also assisting in slowing degenerative diseases’ effects, hydrotherapy improves the quality of life for older/ disabled dogs and has shown beneficial effects on animals with heart/ respiratory problems.
